“Who am I?” I ask.
“You seem to know. So tell me.”
But you say nothing.
From the earth emerge
The winter now turns to spring
You return, my dear
Poetry By Others: The Road Goes Ever On and On, by Bilbo Baggins, as transcribed by J. R. R. Tolkien, and Two Haiku of the Morning, by me
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
— J R R Tolkien
Also, two haiku by me from this morning, with accompanying Twitter hashtag commentary.
Grey rainy morning / disappointing fluff bagel / west coast round bread fail.
My office, quiet / silence whispers as soft silk / caressing my ears.
